The Three Classes of Levers
The Second Class LeverA second class lever has the force and load on the same side of the fulcrum. The force is further away from the fulcrum than the load is. Examples are a wheelbarrow, a bottle opener or a pair of pliers.

The Third Class LeverA third class lever has the force and load on the same side of the fulcrum. The load is further way from the fulcrum than the load is. Examples are a fishing rod, a pair of tweezers, or a staple remover.
